1. Carpet Stains

You'll Need:

- shaving cream

Here's How:

Generously spray shaving cream over the carpet stain, rub the foam into the carpet, and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then wipe up the cream with a cloth and that stain will be long gone.

2. Dirty Hot Plates & Stove Burner Grates

You'll Need:

- dryer sheets
- water

Here's How:

Put the dryer sheets on the stove grates or hot plate and spray water on them. Let the sheets sit for about 15 minutes and then you'll be able to easily wipe the dirt off.

3. Rusty Tools

You'll Need:

- 16 fl oz can/bottle of beer

Here's How:

Pour the beer in a tall glass and place the rusted item inside the glass. Leave the tool overnight and the rust will have dissolved by the next day, allowing you to simply wipe it right off.

4. Scorched Pans

You'll Need:

- celery
- water

Here's How:

Cut the celery into small pieces, boil them with water in the burnt pan, and let simmer. Afterwards, you'll be able to wipe the scorched residue away without any scrubbing.

5. Dirty Metal Sinks

You'll Need:

- ketchup

Here's How:

Lather your metal sink with ketchup and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse the ketchup and everything will sparkle again.

6. Dirty Door & Window Screens

You'll Need:

- lint roller

Here's How:

Lint rollers aren't just for clothes! Roll a lint brush over your window screens or screen door, and it will pick up all the unseemly dirt, debris, and dead insects that your neighbors say are an eyesore.

7. Burnt Pot Bottom

You'll Need:

- potato
- salt
- water

Here's How:

Cut a potato in half and coat the cut side with salt. Wet the bottom of the pot, rub the potato over the burnt sections, and the dark stains will begin to dissolve.

From here on out, pesky household dirt will no longer be a problem for you. Once again, Grandma knows best!
