When the final day of the Grand Chess Tour in Romania began Vishy Anand was in 7th place! It seemed like the event will not go so well for the Madras Tiger. However, Anand had saved his best for the end. Staying to the name of lightning kid, he scored 3 wins and 6 draws on the final day, to end the event with a score of 19.5 to finish third, just half a point behind Aronian and Karjakin.
