Strike detection is high on the priority list when nymph fishing, and we often use in-line indicators to help us detect takes. There are many indicator styles they are relatively cheap and can make a huge difference to your catch rate when river fishing. The choice of river fishing indicators used in conjunction with French leaders or even just a fly line is vast and can be bewildering. In this video I run through some of the types of indicators I have used over time. It may give you a steer as to which ones may suit you. If you have a system of bite detection that you think is better than all of these please leave a comment and share your top tip.
