Didn't think I'd be typing out that title ever in my life. Atlus, y'all not cool for this... Persona 5 The Royal is slated for a March 2020 US release, and just released in Japan on October 31st. Previously I was unfazed by another $60 purchase of Persona 5 due to a couple factors...the main one being I was expecting this play through wouldn't feel the same.
But now we see that the base story is not really affected at all by the additions of Royal, and it's simply an additional section of the game....for $60.
Now to the best of my knowledge there's other features being added like new things to do with your social links/confidants but let's be real...is that really why we want Royal? That was supposed to just be enhancements; not the selling point. You show us a new character like you did with Persona 4 Golden and we're gonna start thinking of a lot of possibilities, especially being in this current gen and you guys doing very well.
..so when you don't deliver anything even remotely similar...we're gonna have some problems.
