The Royal Thai Air Force exhibits modern F-5 F Tiger II warplanes. The modernization project of 14 fighter planes from Squadron 21, Air Wing 21 Ubon Ratchathani was carried out by the Israeli Elbit System and the aerospace industry of the Thai Aviation Industry (TAI).
The improved F-5 Tiger II seems to get a total change in the camouflage color scheme. As well as getting a new name - being the F-5TH Super Tigris is now armed with IRIS-T short-range air-to-air missiles.
The F-5TH Super Tigris can also use Beyond Visual I-Derby missiles made by Rafael Israel.
The Super Tigris F-5TH has also been grafted on targeting devices including Litening III by Rafael and the ability to fire laser-guided LIZARD Bombs made by Elbit Systems Israel.
Coupled with Electronic Warfare devices made by Rafael Sky Shield and Tactical Link T-Link developed in Thailand, making the F-5TH Super Tigris now has the equivalent capability of a 4.5 generation fighter like the Gripen C / D fighter aircraft also owned by Air. Thai forced.
