Birth Control   Titanic Live 1979 Birth Control is a German rock band known for their progressive rock sound loud and provocative album cover.

Birth Control was formed in 1966 in Berlin from two other bands, Earls and Gents. The band was founded with a lineup consisting of Bernd Koschmidder (bass), Reinhold Sobotta (organ), Rolf Gurra (saxophone, vocals), Fritz Groger (vocals), Reiner Borchert (guitar), Hugo Egon Balder (drums), and Klaus Orso (guitar). Within five years of the formation of the band all seven original members have left, but the band continued under the old leadership member drummer (and later vocalist) Bernd Noske (which replaces Balder at the end of 1968) and guitarist Bruno Frenzel (which replaces Borchert 1969).

After the death of Frenzel in 1983, the group disbanded, but reunited in 1993 with only Noske left over from the previous lineup. Other members of the band reformed, including back bassist / vocalist Horst Stachelhaus, as well as guitarist and keyboardist Rocco Zodiac Xaver Fischer.

Although the mainstay Stachelhaus death in 1999, the band continued under the guidance of this Noske, a German tour and released a new album on a regular basis following the turn of the century. In later years, former members Peter foller (bass, vocals) and Zeus B. Held (keyboard) both returned to the fold as a guest musician in occasional concerts. The band ended on 18 February 2014 with the death of Noske. The final lineup of the band consisted of Noske, bassist Hannes Vesper, keyboardist Sascha Kuhn, and guitarist Martin Ettrich.

From 2016 the band continued to perform. The new lineup is: Peter foller (vocals), Martin Ettrich (guitar, talkbox), Sascha Kühn (keyboard), Hannes Vesper (bass) and Manni von Bohr (drums). In the same year th new album "Here and now" has been released, with Bernd Noske on vocals and drums. Since 2018 it is also available as a double vinyl.
