I've had this pair of MPP Solar PIP4048MS Inverter/Charger units running full time for a few years now, and given average temps are in the 40ies I've decided to pull the covers off and give them a service & visual check over. All that was found was a light coat of dust, no discoloration of the PCBs or connection points. Overall I'm very happy with how well they have held up in my real-world testing of them. They run my home full time and the static load it's around 600watts with a peak of about 7000watts but not for very long.
For the past month or so we have been running one 800w airconditioner as well as all the other normal house loads and they have handled it well.
I can easily happily say I'd recommend these units to anyone thinking about buying them.
The version I'm using the PIP4048MS is no longer available, the upgraded version is a PIP5048GK below.
