Mexico's president hits back at Trump's plan to designate drug cartels terrorist organizations

Mexico's president hits back at Trump's plan to designate drug cartels terrorist organizations Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador hit back against U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to designate Latin American drug cartels as terrorist organizations, accusing Trump of "interventionism."

Trump made the comments on an American talk show, amid growing Conservative voices calling for the designation after nine Americans with dual Mexican nationality were killed in what some have called a case of mistaken identity.

Obrador and Mexico have concerns such a designation would enable to U.S. to act directly against the threat if it so chose.
