2019 - SG - Exorcism Gone Wrong: SPG Punched, Beaten & Stab to Death by Aussie Colonial Master (SINGAPORE, 4 Jan 2020) - An Australian man was charged in court today with murdering his Singaporean wife at a Buangkok condominium unit. According to sources, he was attempting to spiritually exorcise his wife, then was alleged to have violently punched, bludgeoned & stabbed her to death. The murderer was then alleged to have killed a dog by throwing it down the third floor apartment window. The animal was found lying on the ground floor in a pool of blood.

(SINGAPORE, CNA, 4 Jan 2020) - A man was charged on Saturday (4 Jan 2020) with murdering his wife at a condominium in Buangkok a day before.

Paul Leslie Quirk was given one charge of committing murder at a third-floor unit at Esparina Residences at 1207hrs SGT on 3 Jan 2020.

The 48-year-old Australian man, whose nationality was not revealed in the charge sheet, is accused of causing the death of Christina Khoo Gek Hwa, 43.

Quirk, who was dressed in a red shirt and had his wrists in cuffs, appeared expressionless during the brief proceedings.

The prosecutor asked for him to be remanded at Changi Prison's medical centre for psychiatric observation.

District Judge Shaiffudin Saruwan ordered him to be remanded for three weeks and to return to court on 24 Jan 2020.

The police said in a statement on Friday that they had received a call for help at a unit at Esparina Residences condominium around noon.

Quirk was subsequently arrested. According to his Facebook profile, Quirk is from Australia and previously worked in podiatry.

If convicted of murder, he faces the death penalty.

(SINGAPORE, ST, 3 Jan 2020) - A 48-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged murder of a 43-year-old woman in a Buangkok condominium on Friday (3 Jan 2020).

He will be charged in court on Saturday (4 Jan 2020), police said.

Police said they received a call for assistance at 1207hrs SGT at 125 Compassvale Bow, the address for Esparina Residences.

Preliminary investigations showed that the dead woman and the man were known to each other, said the police.

She was found unresponsive in the unit and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The case has been classified as murder and police investigations are ongoing.
