Inadequate equipment, staff shortage : Kota hospital paediatric head defends 6000 deaths in 2019

The death toll in Kota's JK Lon Hospital increased Saturday after the death of another child. However, Dr A L Bairwa, Head of Department of Paediatrics told ThePrint's Revathi Krishnan that his department's death statistics are much better than those of newborns elsewhere in the country, that 2019 had the lowest toll since 2014 and he did not understand why the media was sensationalising the incident.
