Jacob Rees-Mogg mocks LibDems, Commons in stitches: I may be better recruiting sergeant for LibDems

Jacob Rees-Mogg mocks LibDems, Commons in stitches: I may be better recruiting sergeant for LibDems Members of Parliament will return to Westminster next Tuesday on January 7. Boris Johnson’s focus when Parliament resumes will be to deliver Brexit by the end of the month.

Tom Brake, the longest-serving Lib Dem MP, lost his seat of Carshalton and Wallington after 22 years.

Back in July, Tom Brake tried to mock Jacob Rees-Mogg but instantly regretted it as JRM delivered a stinging reply to a Liberal Democrat MP in the House of Commons leaving MPs in hysterical laughter.

Mr Brake said: “Could I really welcome the Leader of the House to his position because certainly the Liberal Democrats, we couldn’t want for a better recruiting sergeant for us than him.

“As we set up a contest between Victorian values and Liberal Democrat values.”

Responding to the Liberal Democrat MP, Mr Rees-Mogg delivered a sharp response leaving some MPs in hysterics.

He said: “Thank you Mr Speaker. I may be a better recruiting sergeant for the Lib Dems than the honourable gentleman is."

Mr Rees-Mogg was forced to pause as MPs on the Tory benches burst out laughing.
