Playthrough video of the third Challenge Quest, Distant Torrent As mentioned in the video, there is RNG involved as to whether the Abyssal Dragons use the single target skill or the mapwide AoE skill. Your heroes will need about 4k HP to survive the AoE should it trigger.
One way of preventing the skill from going off would be to Silence these enemies, with Seal or Dessicate, but that will be reliant on RNG as well.
I use Clock and the final moves can be seen at 6:20.
For your Secret Realm outfit points, the next Secret Realm Store skin will only released with Major Update 8 some time in March, which is Sonya's Skysoar (motorcycle) skin, and an event comes one week after that which lets you earn more outfit points, so I wouldn't bother saving them personally.
Good luck for your own clear, this is definitely more challenging than the previous quests that have come before!

The enemy mobs will not use the AoE skill unless injured. So to be absolutely safe, just make sure your tank can tank the single target attacks, and start damaging enemies ONLY if you can finish them off on the same turn. Thanks to those who contributed this!
