Louis Piccirillo has a unique perspective to the classroom experience as a young teacher who knows what it was like to be a student with current technology. Louis hopes to bring better understanding into both worlds by discussing the very different perspectives from each side of the desk. Louis Piccirillo is a Physics teacher at Plattsburgh High School going into his third year. While not originally from the area, Louis moved up to the North Country to attend SUNY Plattsburgh. After attending school, he found opportunities to work with the faculty at PHS and begin working as a full-time teacher in January of 2017. Since that time, he has been involved in many programs at school, both in academics and athletics. Coaching soccer, track and field and Science Olympiad - as well as various academic endeavors - connected him with his students and gave him a diverse perspective on their needs. His changing perspectives on the the student population since becoming a teacher is what leds him to deliver his TEDxYouth@PHS talk.
