Over the past couple of weeks, we have heard the call of our sacred text to make real on our faith, and to “prove it”. This invitation is affirmed, not just in the words that come from our mouths, or a doctrine that has been taught to us, but in our daily lived-out actions. Through grace, love, compassion, sacrifice and deepening our faith experience, we get to prove that God is indeed moving within us. We get to prove that God is real by accepting God’s sacrificial love and by living sacrificially ourselves – both toward ourselves and toward others.
God’s love has saved us, and we prove that through our desire to become more Christ-like. As we mature in our faith, we no longer have to be spoon-fed a diet of clichés or doctrines that we live up to, but rather we live into the assurance of God’s love and move to the “meat” of the Gospel life.
The apostle Paul would remind us that we are “more than conquerors” in Christ, that we can do all things through Christ who loves us. This is not something that we do on our own, but through the grace and love of God.
Yes, we are saved and today we begin to explore what that guarantee might mean for us in our spiritual journey. How does this guarantee move us to accomplish ever greater things for Christ, personally and for the world in need of God’s love today?
I sincerely hope that you will be inspired as we continue our journey of proving to the world God is real, by living God out loud in the world.
