3 Inch Hose Across Pedestrian and Cycle Path

3 Inch Hose Across Pedestrian and Cycle Path A water hose, about 3" thick, was put diagonally across a line separated cycle and pedestrian path. This is and has been a road work area and there are general road work signs, but no warnings about the new and temporary danger are to be found.

The fact that the hose is crossing the path at an angle is of special danger to cyclists; the safest would be to cross the hose at a 90-degree angle. This is a very short cycle path between two road crossings, and cyclists are usually trying to watch the traffic and the sharp turns, and may not be expecting obstacles like this.

To some pedestrians, especially elderly, disabled or smartphone zombies, this can be an obstacle that is dangerous or hard to cross.

To hose was removed when checking back a few hours later.

Recorded next to the roundabout joining Stålhandskegatan and Kolhamnsgatan, Sannegårdwn, Gothenburg, Sweden, 2019-12-16.
