'There is no need for a free trade agreement': Boris Johnson outlines UK stance after Brexit Boris Johnson has said the UK will not need to accept EU rules in trade when outlining the government's stance on negotiations with the EU in a speech in Greenwich on Monday 3 February.

The prime minister said 'British fishing grounds are first and foremost for British boats'. In stark contrast with EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier ,who said in a press conference one hour earlier an agreement 'should provide for continued, reciprocal access to markets and to waters with stable quota shares.'
