President Donald J. Trump just tweeted this Tough Guys for Trump Video, complete with profuse profanity and featuring Larry David.
The President's tweet is representative of his stock in trade: direct, sometimes edgy communication that endears him to the people.
Trump knows that this video clip was meant to insult him and his followers. But it shows that he's not afraid of the criticism and can even turn it around on his opponents, which people see and love. With Trump, what he tweet is what you get and we like it like that.
Trump posted the 30-second clip from the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" season 10 premiere, which shows Larry David dressed in a red Make America Great Again hat.
The episode, called "Happy New Year," aired January 19.
The clip shows Larry David driving down the street when he accidentally cuts off a biker on a motorcycle.
The man starts cursing at David and pulls up alongside his car to beat him up. To avoid confrontation, David puts on a Make America Great Again hat, the trademark of Trump supporters.
"I'm sorry I didn't see you," David tells the angry biker.
Realizing David is wearing a MAGA hat, the biker brushes off the incident and changes his tone.
"Just be more careful next time, OK?" he says, then leaves.
