Beam Depth Assumption Thumb Rule ≈ Beam Length (ft → inch), is it okay? || Bangla || BUET CE SOLVED Welcome to BUET CE SOLVED || Miscellaneous || Bangla

This video is all about the concept of thumb rule assumption of beam depth of a building. During calculation of beam depth while designing in practical life, we often face this term. We also need to face this fact in different Civil Engineering aspects. Here, the definition of span length, interpretation span length of beam etc. has been done as well. Generally, we convert the span length of the beam from ft to inch to assume the trial beam depth. Does it work accurately? For validation we have gone through ACI 318-14 within this tutorial. We have compared with different parameter values to vindicate the thumb rule. Also we have used the reference of the book "Design of Concrete Structures" by Arthur Nilson here as well.

This is very basic concept of Civil Engineering especially Structural Engineering. Hopefully, viewers will enjoy this video.
