Coronavirus outbreak: Mike Pence meets with cruise line officials to address spread of COVID-19 After meeting with cruise industry executives on Saturday, U.S. Vice President Mike Pence announced that the government will be working with ocean liner companies to control the spread of COVID-19, which will result in “significant changes in the practices” of cruise lines.

Pence said that the industry will further enhance entry and exit screening, as well as ship-board testing for COVID-19 and new quarantine standards for all ships, which will be coordinated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
