Coronavirus | Pietermaritzburg residents concerned about SA's first COVID-19 case The National Institute of Communicable Diseases confirmed South Africa's first coronavirus case. Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said a 38-year-old man had been diagnosed with Coronavirus (COVID-19). The man and his wife had travelled to Italy. They were part of a group of ten travellers who arrived back in South Africa on the first of March.
