ICF or Integral Coach Factory is a manufacturer of train coaches located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The MEDHA train is equipped with high power three phase propulsion system. This train is powered by Hyderabad based company Medha Servo Drives, so this train is called MEDHA. EMU or Electric Multiple Unit train usually Local Train consists of self-propelled carriages using electricity as the motive power. An EMU requires no separate locomotive, as electric traction motors are incorporated within one or a number of the carriages. The majority of EMUs are Local Trains. EMUs are popular on commuter and suburban rail networks due to their fast acceleration and pollution free operation.
