This is our February monthly project for our Knitcrate yarn subscription. Joanne created this beautiful, lightweight cowl by knitting in the round with the stamen stitch pattern.

Follow along with these instructions:
///Instructions:
Stamen Cowl (KnitCrate Yarn)
Sport weight Yarn
Size 6US needles (4mm)
Gauge: 22 stitches = 4” (10cms.)
Cast on:
Short: 121 stitches= 22” round.
Medium: 181stitches= 33” round.
Long: 241 stitches= 44” round
Repeat from * to *
Cast on stitches using any method. I used the chain cast on.
Set up rows:
Knit 1 round.
Purl 2 rounds.
Knit 1 round.
4 row repeat:
Round 1.- Purl.
Round 2.- *slip 1 as if to purl, with yarn in back, knit 1*
end round with slip 1.*knit 1, slip one as if to purl, with yarn in back*
end round with knit 1.
Round 3.- Purl.
Round 4.- *knit 1, slip one as if to purl, with yarn in back*
end round with knit 1.
Repeat these 4 rows until 10” from start
Finishing rows:
Knit 1 round.
Purl 2 rounds.
Knit 1 round.
Bind off.
