3 new strains of guppies in the fishroom. I explain how I acclimate the fish and show them in their new tanks. I use small tanks for a trio or pair of guppies as I want to concentrate on feeding them high protein foods and getting fry out of the new fish. These tanks are each 2 & a 1/2 gallon tanks with water sprite plants at the tops and just an air stone. Water changes are required more often. I find that acclimating new fish in small tanks is much easier on the fish than putting them each in a 10 gallon tank. Maybe it's the smaller amount of new water to acclimate to or less water pressure on their little bodies. In the 2 & a 1/2 gallon tanks I use 2 drops of quick cure, a pinch of aquarium salt and 3 drops of pond strength melafix. 1 time. I don't use any more unless I see the tail is clamping up.
