Hong Kong’s District Council elections are scheduled for Sunday, November 24, 2019. District councillors handle community-level affairs in the city’s 18 districts and are democratically elected every four years.Measures will be taken to allow the voting to go ahead smoothly amid anti-government protests that have been ongoing since June. Some polling stations will be moved away from university campuses that have become magnets for protesters, and extra security will be deployed.
