3D wave maker • 27M particles • velocity • particle-based view A piston oscillates and generates waves that break by plunging, interact with the backwash on a slope, and generate splash • The three-dimensional flow is periodic in the close-to-far direction

This is the validation case '3D Wavemaker' in the 'main' suite of examples of DualSPHysics 4.4 • The simulation settings have default values except for the initial particles spacing: this is 5 mm, one quarter of the default • The fluid particles count is 27,365,042 • The initial water height at the piston is 0.75 m and is represented by a column of 150 particles

The shading displays the velocity magnitude • The particle-based view renders the individual computational elements used to simulate the bulk of the flow field • Watch the view based on envelopes of the water mass at

Visualized with Paraview 5.7.0 • For the playlist of other validation examples of DualSPHysics 4.4 watch • For downloading DualSPHysics 4.4 check out
