Between January 11-18 Washington has been hammered with snow. This snow brought down trees and power lines shutting down highway 2 for 5 days. People in the town of Skykomish were stranded not being able to leave town during the event. Today the mountains are under a winter storm warning for more snow.

Up Stevens Pass, the resort has seen over six feet of snow over the last week. Our snow pack went from about 25% of normal in mid December, to now being all the way up to 85-103%. Simply an amazing amount of snow has fallen in a short amount of time. Skiers and snowboarders alike are overjoyed at the prospect of all the basically untouched powder.

Up in Lynden Washington earlier in the day, the town and surrounding areas received some freezing rain, making roads slick.
