My name is Donovan Cronkhite, and I am recovering from a severe traumatic brain injury, known as a diffuse axonal injury. I attend UC San Diego, majoring in neuroscience and minoring in philosophy, and I have been pursuing public speaking for over three years now. This is the first speech I wrote for a scholarship competition, and later on, I also gave it at a club of Toastmaster's International and one best speaker that day. I am now recording a video of it to submit along with my application to TEDxUCSD to give a talk at their conference in May 2020. Sorry for looking down and pausing, it has been years since I have given this speech or rehearsed it to memorization.
