BEFORE WASHING:
Wash your microfiber towels separately from all other fabrics.
Separate your microfiber towels. Polishing towels (compound, polish), super dirty towels (engine bay, wheels & tires) and cleaner towels (interior, paintwork, glass).
If the towels are very dirty, start with a pre-soak in a bucket. Add warm water and a bit of all purpose cleaner or Optimum Power Clean. Let them soak a few hours.

WASHER:
Use a gentle liquid detergent that is free or fabric softeners, bleach, dyes and scent. This way, you won’t get any residue coating the fibers. You can use microfiber specific detergents like Micro-Restore, or commonly available ones like Tide Free & Gentle or All Free & Clear. Never use powder detergents.
Select cold or warm temperatures, not hot. Normal cycle (more agitation and spinning helps to scrub off dirt and debris). If you have an extra rinse cycle, use it.
Add 1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar in the bleach port or fabric softener port of your washer. The vinegar will provide more cleaning power, giving the towels a softer feel and remove more stains.

DRYER:
Select no heat or lowest possible heat setting (air dry or tumble dry). Microfiber is a mix of polyester and polyamide, basically really fine plastics. Those fibers will melt (140F or 60C which is melting point of polyamide).
You can hang dry the towels, but they won’t feel as plush.
If you towels have a lot of lint, one trick is to dry them before washing them. This will remove the majority of the lint.
