Its always fun to take family trips, Lots of laughs and happiness. We aimed to see the sunset of Kumarakom to its waters would be the best things to see.
We started from Angamaly around 9.30 Am in the morning and reached Kumarakom around 11.30 am with a couple of stops on the way.
The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake and is part of the Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary here, which is spread across 14 acres is a favorite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist's paradise. Egrets, Darters, Herons, Teals, Waterfowls, Cuckoo, Wild Duck and migratory birds like the Siberian Stork visit here in flocks and fascinate all visitors.
An enchanting backwater destination, Kumarakom offers visitors many other leisure options. One of them is The Zuri Kumarakom, Kerala Resort & Spa. We had our lunch from the Lime restaurant there. Pretty good with lots of options, though it gets crowded after a while, we were treated well.
The boat ride in Vembanad Lake is just relaxed and refined feeling, featuring lush flowery landscapes and a multicolored plethora of bird species, best enjoyed the best sunset.
The day well ended with an authentic dinner from the Kottayam club overlooking the Lake. Must see !!!
